They need to buy a freezer just to hold the meat and it lasts them for a year!

So after weeks of substituting snacks for mealtime entrees, I finally went grocery shopping. I've broken my string of days gone by with out eating veggies and fruit. I'm trying to finish the groceries before they perish. I also feel burdened by the next shopping trip that's looming! How many chances have I missed to eat or make something tasty? No more non-tasty snacks.

swimming

the lady swimming in the lane next to me was going so fast and swimming so effortlessly...she had on flippers.

my pores smell like chlorine and i like it.

snow there but not here

It snowed about a half an inch around where I work, enough that I had to brush the windows before pulling out of the lot at the end of the day. I must have been on the edge of the snowstorm, because within a few minutes of my drive (the total trip is less than 14 miles), there was only a dusting of powder on the ground. In another few minutes there was nothing. I got home at the same time as a neighbor, and when I got out of my car (with a layer of snow on the roof and hood) he asked me where I drove in from.
AI7

How is it already season 7 of American Idol? I only caught one episode of the auditions this year, and tonight I'm watching the first day of the top 24. Many sound decent, but it's hard to tell from just this one performance. Are their pitch problems just from nerves for the first live show or is it a constant problem? They make Simon out to be such a meanie so that I'm surprised when he shows a genuine looking smile when someone cracks a joke. But i hate it when he doesn't laugh at jokes and when he's in a bad mood and says illogical things.

Miscellaneous comments: I liked the first few notes of David #1, liked David #2's rock rendition only because it was really different from the original version, Jason #1 had a sort of different voice, David is a baby but did really well, Danny has some personality, Jason #2 played his own guitar!, I like Michael's accent, but the singing was okay.

There are three contestantts from Indiana, and one each from Ohio and Virginia! One Asian American contestant!

windshield wipers

i was using my windshield wipers because it was raining and then i drove through a bunch of HUGE potholes and it jolted one of the wipers loose and it was just hanging there!
cardio kickboxing experience #1

Still being january, I've been relatively good about going to the gym. On my previous membership, five years ago, I probably averaged about once a month of gym attendance. In order to maximize my membership this time, one thing I've decided to do is to try each different group exercise class at least once. To go beyond that, I may try to make one appearance in every time slot that's possible for me to go. That'll be much harder, because the early morning classes are from 6am-7 and 7am-730 (nothing else scheduled then besides sleep). I don't have any other real goals yet. I'm waiting to discover my gym identity (I don't know if that exists; I don't know what I'm talking about)

Today I went to Cardio KickBoxing and felt like a wimp. I probably worked at about a 30% intensity level compared to the instructor and most of the rest of the class. After the first 10 minutes, I didn't think I would make it to the end of class. I considered sticking it out for 20 more minutes (and getting my recommended amount of cardio) and then leaving, but I stayed till the end. For each move, I went at least double slow compared to the teacher. After a while, I wasn't out of breath because I was moving so slow. My muscles were so worn out. On the plus side, I didn't have too much energy to waste on feeling self conscious about what my moves looked like; I was too tired. Also, it was encouraging that the teacher told us when she first took a similar class, it took her a month and a half of once a week class to not be sore after each workout (and she was in shape because she had been a regular runner previously). Maybe I'll go for a second time...

Oh. And not to overdo things, I made sure I drove the 0.35 miles to the gym instead of walking.

Top 5 Favorite Fruits

You might already know that I don't really have favorites, because there are so many things to like. The first
scene I remember was being at the beach. We had been doing something
like fishing, and finally we caught something. We needed to rinse the
crumbs (sand) off so we floated the alligator out into the water. It
wasn't completely clean, but we floated him back to shore anyway. Back on the beach, two of my friends (mmapa and her bf) were taking pictures with the alligator. They were laying down right beside him, faces next to each other. They took a bunch of pictures and then asked me if I wanted to join. I declined, but not because I thought the alligator was dangerous. At this point however, the alligator was no longer real; he was more like a model they were posing with. When they finished with the pictures, they got up, and the alligator got up too. He stood up vertically because he was a PERSON dressed in a rubber alligator suit. The suit was green and cartoon-like.

In the next scene, I thought I had a rubber alligator suit on, but it was actually just a costume made of the plastic material that beach balls are made of. The costume was kind of deflated, so I pushed on it around my neck area so that the head portion would be more inflated. It worked, and the ears on top of my head perked up. I noticed now that it was a white bunny costume and not an alligator costume. Next, I was in a group photo with some family members. I remember seeing an aunt from California either taking photos or in the photo with me. I didn't really want to be in the photos, because I knew that my costume wasn't right (the costume at this point is red). I pulled the glasses off my face right before the photos were taken because I thought it would make me look better.

That's all I remember.

11.26.07

They Sang Three Little Birdies

We sang with with the children's choruses last night at rehearsal.
